Hertz New Zealand has partnered with NHR Group, a leading Kiwi-owned truck and van rental company, who is to become the major franchise operator in New Zealand for Hertz and Thrifty van & truck rentals.
NHR Group operates a network of truck rental locations across the country. Large vehicle rentals are a multi-billion-dollar industry in New Zealand, serving a wide range of sectors including logistics, civil works, government and the film and television industry where NHR Group is a market leader. This partnership leverages the additional strength of the Hertz and Thrifty brands and will see five co-branded locations across New Zealand, including Manukau, Pukekohe, Albany, Waikato, and Christchurch, with plans to expand into Queenstown in the near future. NHR’s range of Trucks, Vans and buses will also be available from most Hertz locations, while Hertz and Thrifty passenger cars will be available to rent from NHR Group locations.
Phil Arras, CEO of NHR Group, expressed enthusiasm about the new collaboration, highlighting the expanded offerings and operational growth this partnership brings.

Andrew Ritchie, Director of NHR Group, emphasised the commitment to expansion and the high-quality service NHR Group is known for.

Customers will soon see the NHR/Hertz/Thrifty co-branded vehicles and signage at their local depots,” said Ritchie. “This expansion enables us to build on the exceptional service our customers rely on.”
