PCS in this manual is abbreviation for Portable Charging Station.

WARNING

Risk of Fire or Electric Shock

  • When using the EV Power 10/16/20/24/32 Amp adjustable charger, basic electrical safety precautions must be followed
  • Use this charge station (PCS) to charge electric vehicles equipped with either a Type 1 or Type 2 EV Socket charge port only. Consult the vehicle owner's manual to determine if the vehicle is equipped with the correct charge port.
  • Changes, modifications to this device or opening the device by any persons other than a service authorized by OEM Audio Ltd facility will void the product warranty. • Make certain the charge station (PCS) is positioned so it will not be stepped on, tripped over, or otherwise subjected to damage or stress.
  • This product contains no user serviceable parts. Consult the Customer Support section in this manual for service information. Do not attempt to open, repair or service the charge station yourself.
  • Do not operate your charge station (PCS) if any part charge station (PCS) is physically open, cracked, frayed, or otherwise visibly damaged. Contact OEM Audio for service immediately. Additional Safety Information

WARNING: Unplug the charge station (PCS) from the wall outlet before servicing or cleaning the unit.

VENTILATION: Some electric vehicles require an external ventilation system to prevent the accumulation of hazardous or explosive gases when charging indoors. Consult the vehicle owner's manual to determine if your vehicle requires ventilation during indoor charging. Vehicles which conform to the SAE-J1772TM or IEC 62196 standard for communication can inform the charge station that they require an exhaust fan. The PCS is not equipped to control ventilation fans. Do not charge the vehicle with the PCS if ventilation is required

CAUTION: DO NOT CHARGE a vehicle indoors if it requires ventilation. Contact your car dealer for information. Very few cars have this feature.

Important Information

Important Safety Instructions

The EV Power charging cable is a compact portable charging station that provides the Plug-in Hybrid (PHEV) or Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV) user with a safe and manageable link between the power grid and the PEV.

  • Always plug the cable into the wall socket first.
  • Always use an adequate socket, an electric vehicle charging system might be running for as long as 12 hours non-stop.
  • Ensure that the socket you are using is in good condition and is suitable for such a constant load. If unsure consult a qualified electrician.
  • Ensure that your charging socket is not far from your 'point of supply'.
  • Ensure that the socket you are using is capable of supplying to this device. Often sockets in garages etc. have been installed using low grade cable and as such will suffer voltage drop over distance. This can and will affect the operation of your charging cable over a period of time.

Do not use a multibox or extension cord, this invalidates any warranty.

Faults

If any fault occurs, please do not use the cable and contact OEM Audio immediately

The front panel on the PCS has an LED light which will illuminate when any fault is detected.

Disconnection

When disconnecting the EV Power PHEV/BEV charging cable:

ALWAYS

1. Remove the vehicle connector first, then

2. Remove the plug from the wall socket.

To remove the vehicle connector once a charge cycle has completed (or to interrupt a charge in progress) press and hold down the latch release lever on the charge coupler handle then unplug the charge coupler from the vehicle charge port.

If charging always takes place in the same location, such as the home garage at night, the PCS may be left plugged into the wall socket without damage, only if the switch is turned off

Environment

When not in use, please keep the cable out of water, and any chance of it being driven over or other forms of abuse.

Protection from the rain

This device is designed to be water resistant (IP66). This does not mean it should be left in a puddle or outside for months on end, thus exposed to New Zealand or Australia's harsh climate. Shelter should be provided for the central control box if you're going to leave the device outside for a long period of time.

When not in use please store inside.

Please contact OEM Audio Ltd for advice.

Note for Users

  • After an average driving day, the vehicle battery pack will require several hours to recharge completely.
  • Overnight charging is the most common way to maintain healthy batteries and ensure the vehicle's full range will be available for the next day.
